Bus route 82 between Chester and Northwich will be operated every hour, Monday to Saturday by D&G Bus from 29 October. This follows the cancellation of the service by Arriva on the 28 October.

Cheshire West and Chester Council, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Infrastructure, Councillor Brian Clarke said: “I have passed on my thanks to our Transport team who have been in discussions to protect this important bus route. I was very pleased to hear D&G Bus will now be taking over the route on a commercial basis with minimum disruption for passengers”.

The Route from the Chester Bus Interchange will call at Foregate Street, Vicars Cross, Tarvin, Kelsall, Sandiway Estate, Hartford Railway station, Greenbank, Northwich Watling Street, Sainsbury’s  and Sir John Deane’s College.  The full timetable is now available on the company’s website:

D&G Bus have been in talks with Sir John Deane’s College to discuss student travel. The Company will be offering  excellent fare deals for young people, and also accepts the Cheshire Travelcard which offers 15 per cent discount on a variety of tickets. D&G Bus will introduce improvements to the service for students in the afternoons.

Councillor Clarke added: “We are grateful for D&G Bus taking this commercial opportunity, and I would encourage communities to embrace this valuable service which must be profitable if it is to be sustained”.
