Westminster Park in Ellesmere Port has benefited from a variety of improvements including replacement of some of the toddler play equipment; introduction of junior play equipment and a complete re-design of the layout to improve its safety, enjoyment and flow.
Residents and park users have helped to plan and reshape the park making it a place where families feel happy to bring their children.
Westminster Park is an important place for the community, with the improvements making it an enjoyable space to visit, play or walk the dog in the large enclosed dog walk area.
The work has been carried out by Dunkil Construction working closely with Cheshire West and Chester Council teams.
Councillor Karen Shore, Cabinet Member Environment, said: “Westminster Park is a crucial public play space for all our residents on the Westminster estate, we worked closely with the community to ensure the finished park met the local requirements making it a welcoming place for families, children of all ages and dog walkers to enjoy the outdoors.
“Westminster Park was looking very tired and a lot of equipment was nearing its end of life. Thanks to Tesco Bags of Help and local improvement funding, residents can really enjoy the park. The redevelopment of the site has injected a new positivity into the area for residents both young and old to enjoy the outdoors on their doorstep. I would like to thank the teams from across the Council for their work supporting our ambitions for these improvements.”
