Cheshire West and Chester Council is working with Frodsham Town and Parish Councils to create the best possible floral displays in the town.
This month residents may have noticed planters have disappeared along routes into the town. This is because the planters are currently being refurbished – their drainage will be improved and they will also be filled with fresh soil.
The planters will then be repositioned ready for planting at the end of May. Locations have been agreed to get the best results and in some cases this means that a small number of locations are not suitable for plants, or where watering is impractical or dangerous, will no longer be used.
Flowers to be planted include citrus coloured Begonias, classic mixed and salmon-coloured Geraniums, cascading blue Lobelia, Fairy Queen Salvia and Verbena Bonariensis.
The Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Councillor Karen Shore said: “I’m delighted we are working the Town and Parish Councils to create some wonderful floral displays in Frodsham.
It’s exciting that we will be working with the Councils throughout the year to ensure these displays are well maintained and they could potentially be entered into the 2019 Britain in Bloom competition.”
